My name is Eleri Denham (she/they). I grew up in suburban Chicago, Illinois. Immediately after high school, I moved to Tempe, Arizona, to study at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University. I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Anthropology and a minor in Film and Media Production.
I first ventured into freelance writing and editing in 2015. Since then, I’ve worked on everything from marketing copy for Chicago DJs to collections of historiographical essays to space opera novels. For me, that variety is one of the best parts of my work as a freelancer. Every project is an opportunity to engage with a different perspective and learn something new.
Outside of work, I am, at any given time, wrangling a motley collection of creative projects. Most of them involve writing, photography (all of the banner images on this site are mine), or lending a hand in the local filmmaking community.
In 2018, I said goodbye to Arizona’s red rock country and moved to the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Today, I live in Corvallis with my partner, along with our dog, cat, two fish tanks, and small jungle of houseplants. When I’m not home, you can usually find me out on my stand-up paddleboard, at a local coffee shop or brewery, or in front of a campfire.
